Hi! I'm Natalie Bennon.
I'm a public relations professional, communications strategist, marketer, and writer. My favorite thing to do is get to know a person or organization, help them tell their story, and then help them get it in front of the people who need to hear it -- news media, members, donors, elected officials, and more.
Because everyone has a story to tell. But sometimes they need help telling it.
I started as a journalist, covering policy and politics in both Washington, D.C. and Portland, Ore. Publishing an article or more per day taught me how to nurture strategic relationships, get information quickly, write quickly, and meet deadlines.
I moved on to become a grant writer for The Nature Conservancy, successfully shifting to persuasive writing and team writing. With a low-ego, collaborative leadership style, I helped the organization raise more than $10 million for conservation projects in Oregon. I also assisted with writing newsletter content and securing earned media.
With a passion for doing good, my next move was to help raise funds and awareness for clean water and healthy rivers throughout the Northwest as Communications and Marketing Director for Pacific Rivers. Under my leadership, Pacific Rivers developed a new logo and new website, earned significant news coverage, and significantly increased the profile of its work with funders and activists.
Now a consultant, I help campaigns, non-profits, foundations and small businesses tell stories that matter to the people they need to reach. I do this through communications planning, public relations, and writing.
I've identified messengers and secured local, regional and national press to elevate my clients' causes. I've developed and implemented communications plans that have secured more funds, supporters, and partners. I've written content for websites and social media posts that secured more support for my clients' priorities. And I've written fundraising materials that helped my clients grow and achieve more.
